Wow! Two concerts in one term. Now, that is what we call entertainment!
After a countdown to 21 June, the children were very inquisitive about the surprise that would be announced during assembly.
The secret is out." An unfamiliar surprise: A familiar fairytale to be performed by familiar people." The teachers practiced in secret to put this surprise play together for our children. Neither the children nor the teachers know who is to play which character. Redrella, Snolocks and the Dwarberigs will be performed on 18 July 2013.
Traditionally a drama production is staged at Beaulieu Prep. each year. Plays are usually held during the second term and productions are done in consecutive years, in the following order: House Play, JP play, House play, SP production, House play, Whole School production. In order to stage a successful production, there are different fields which need to be co-ordinated: direction, costumes, sets, sound, lighting, back stage, administration and the actors themselves need to be guided.
On 28 May 2013, the Pantomime, Jack and the Big Stork, was staged. Only Grades six and seven pupils were involved, as it was a House play.
In 2012, the Whole School Production was The Sea Carousel. On board the freighter, Sea Carousel, the unwilling stowaways, Jennifer and James, under the supervision of a retired engineer, Philip, went on a free trip around the world. They visited many fascinating lands and learnt about a variety of cultures. Back home they had many interesting stories to tell classmates and teachers alike!
